An eerie feeling washed over me as I waded into the water early in the morning. It was raining and the underwater world looked like a foggy haunted forest. I turn around am surprised by this large female lemon shark as she scavenged the shallows of the island for food. #freedivingphotography #shark #sharks

Small islands along the coast of south western Australia are the perfect, and only habitat of Australian sea lions. These guys are the most endangered sea lion species in the world and their numbers won’t be rising anytime soon. Research is insufficient, human pollution of their habitat and the way they reproduce, make it hard for this species to recover from the extensive history of being hunted by humans. #conservation #conservationphotography #wildlifephotography #freediving #ausgeo

The Epaulette shark or as I like to call it, the walking shark is a very special species not only because of its weird color pattern🎨 but mostly because unlike other shark species, these guys don’t swim, but they walk over the ocean floor. Managed to finally get a breaching shot before taking off back to Germany last whale season! The dark blue waters of the south coast really didn’t help in tracking the whales movements underwater. It pretty much just boiled down to straight up luck 🍀 #whalephotography #humpback
